Freelancer.com has recently announced the launch of a competition with a $25k prize fund up for grabs, including a $10k first prize for the person or group of people who can promote the newly launched freelancer.com.au website to as many people in Australia as possible. The contest is open to anyone worldwide who is a member of the Freelancer website.

Freelancer have included a range of tips and suggestions to help would be winners brain storm ideas for winning the competition, including a calendar of major events which are happening while the competition is open and are likely to attract a big Australian following. Examples of events given include Australian Cricket in India, The Ashes Cricket Tournament, Oprah Winfrey visiting Sydney, The Commonwealth games in Delhi and the Melbourne Cup, Australia's biggest horse race.

Prizes in the competition include $10k USD for the overall winner, $5,000 for the most innovative entry, $5,000 for the person who gains the most online exposure, $5,000 for the person who gains the most offline exposure and $2,000 + an iPad for the person chosen by users of the Freelancer website. All entries must be supported by a video to be uploaded to YouTube.
