oDesk Commits $1M to Startup America
Recently oDesk announced they’ve committed $1M to Startup America which supports all startups and entrepreneurs across the US.
The White House’s Startup America was launched earlier in 2011 with an initiative that’s been established by the private sector to accelerate entrepreneurs across the country to create jobs and sustain economic growth.
“As the world leader in online employment, we are honoured to participate in this initiative to create jobs and promote entrepreneurship and innovation,” said oDesk CEO, Gary Swart. “This partnership with Startup America will give us an opportunity to help other startups discover the wealth of talent at their fingertips though online work.”
oDesk’s reported their $1M pledge to Startup America is to offer each eligible firm credits to allow them to easily hire the talent they require via the oDesk platform.
“The Startup America Partnership is helping young companies grow and, ultimately, create jobs in our country,” said Scott Case, CEO of the Startup America Partnership. “These firms can now find the talent they need to reach that growth through oDesk's platform.”
oDesk reported through the participation in the Startup America program they’re empowering other startups with the hiring ability once only seen by big companies yet at a sensible budget.
