Competition hasn’t been fiercer as two Australian giant companies, Freelancer.com and 99designs.com, battle it out for greater market share.

Capitalising on the strength of their popular and growing graphic design category, Freelancer.com announced on the 6th June, the launch of their largest and most lucrative contest site for their strong 600,000 plus graphic designers.

Recently 99designs.com announced the opening of their new “ready-made” logo store. The new store will be able to provide small businesses with immediate access to over 4,300 professional logos. Small business will be able to browse by industry, purchase and customise the logos with their business name. 99designs.com reported non-exclusive rights for logos will cost $99 and exclusive rights will incur an additional $199 fee.

Elance recently announced an upcoming change to its Add-On Connects policy. Beginning February 24, 2011, the maximum number of Connects that members can add to their monthly plan will be determined by their Elance Level.  The maximum number of a member's Connects will be the sum of base membership Connect allocation (25 for Individuals, 40 for Small Businesses, and 60 for Large business) multiplied by their Level.

Ian Ippolito, Founder and CEO of vWorker.com has provided some good answers and insight into how he is able to undercut most people in the market, particularly oDesk, in offering outsourced services on a pay for time basis for as little as 6.5% commission.

vWorker has been trialling a pay for time business model alongside its fixed fee projects. While in beta the site was offering the service at between 6.5% and 9% commission. It announced over the weekend that this pricing would become permanent, undercutting oDesk the leader in the pay for time field by between 10% and 35%.
