Elance Sells Contractor Management Business
Elance today announced that it has sold its on-demand Services and Contractor Management business to Click Commerce (Nasdaq: CKCM), effective February 8.
"This move enables the two businesses to capitalize on their respective market and growth opportunities," said Fabio Rosati, President and CEO of Elance. "Elance's Services and Contractor Management business is now a division of Click Commerce, a rapidly growing and visionary technology company. Going forward the Elance internet business is the sole focus of the company and will pursue its ambitious plans for expansion".
Elance plans to expand and improve its solutions for small business outsourcing and collaboration over the internet. The Elance services marketplace is the world's largest, with over 100,000 business, creative and technology projects completed each year.
Click Commerce will continue to offer Elance's Services and Contractor Management software-as-a-service, whose customers include American Express, BP, EDS, FedEx, GE, and other Global 500 companies. Click Commerce has retained the majority of the employees of this Elance business unit.
